Past Mission Trips

After the initial trip in 2006, TNC has sponsored trips each year:

  • 2007 – March

  • 2007 – July, included a meeting with supporters from Finland.

  • 2008 – January, included a senior at Chartiers Valley High School working with the Home of Hope Outreach program as her senior project

  • 2008 – 2 summer trips cancelled due to political unrest in the country

  • 2008 – Oct, worked with The Water Project, the rejuvenation of Nyahuku Remote Clinic, Container Importation, acquiring vehicles, famine relief, many topics

  • 2009 – June, a second senior accompanied the team working with the Home of Hope Outreach sponsorship program

  • 2009 – July, included a “Summit Conference” of Methodist conferences around the world who are also supporting Zimbabwe

  • 2009 – Oct, supported the Nurse Graduation Event, the clinics, the Home of Hope Outreach program, the Water Project, others.

  • 2010 April, coordinated distribution of items sent by TNC via Ocean Container, initiated an Internet Café, initiated a Community Library

  • 2010 July, Medical support, sponsorship of a 3 day “Pastor Exchange Workshop”, Home of Hope

  • 2010 Aug, Vacation Bible School, built a fence around Home of Hope gardens, took 31 children (including all from the HOH) on a 4 day excursion to the “Imire Safari Ranch.

  • 2011 March, visited Chikwizo Remote Medical Clinic and planned future renovation, met with ZACH to enable increased shipment of future containers by Brothers Brother Foundation, visited and updated all children in the Home of Hope Outreach program, and extensively outlined medical priorities for the hospital.

Trips typically include an optional 3- or 4-day excursion somewhere in Zimbabwe.  Past teams have visited Chengeta Safari Lodge, Pamuzinda Safari Lodge, Lion Walks at Gweru, Victoria Falls, Hwange Animal Park, and Imire Safari Camp.
