3rd Annual Bridges Golf Outing

The third annual Bridges Golf Outing was held Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the scenic Ponderosa Golf Course in Hookstown, PA.

10-Fold worldwide webcast

The Nyadire Connection was featured on “10 –Fold” as part of a 10-day online event that featured a different mission project of the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) on each off10 consecutive days in October 2010.  Through live webcasts, streaming video, online chats, and other media, people will learn about these amazing ministries that are changing people’s lives.

Events

The Nyadire Connection has events and gatherings scheduled throughout the year – some have become annual events.  Some examples:

    • ZIM JAM –  We have sponsored this Christian Music CoZIM JAMncert in 2008, 2009, and 2010.  Tickets are sold as a fund raiser and it includes contemporary Christian Music Bands, with a meal and great presentations on Zimbabwe.  Crafts are displayed and sold

    • Golf Tournament – organized as a Fund Raiser

    • Social Gatherings – we frequently get together to share a meal, show pictures, and tell Nyadire Stories!

    • Programs and Presentations – we present to local schools, Rotary Clubs, churches, hospitals, and organizations of all types.

    • Craft Sales – we bring crafts back from each Zimbabwe trip and sell them at all events.  Examples are baskets, wood carvings, soapstone carvings, clothing, beautiful materials, recorded music, note cards and Much Much More.

    • School Carnivals – we’ve participated in several school programs

    • International Day of Prayer for Zimbabwe – TNC has sponsored programs to educate and provide prayer support for the situation in Zimbabwe.

    • Visitors from Zimbabwe – many of our friends from Nyadire visit the United States and we always schedule opportunities to hear them speak and update everyone on what is going on in the country

    • Alternative Giving Mart – TNC has sold Zimbabwean items at these church fund raisers.

    • Home of Hope / Home of Hope Outreach – programs are regularly scheduled providing updates to sponsors and interested people. 

    • Garage Sales – conducted as fund raisers

    • Work Days – many are held throughout the year.  Examples include organizing of the storage facility, preparing for container shipments, pick-up of donated items, & packing of computers for shipment.

    • Christ United Methodist Church Carnival – TNC operates an educational program and conducts a giant, floor model “Africa Game”.

    • Seminars and Classes – TNC has facilitated educational programs with speakers from the University of Pittsburgh, and many other speakers and resources.
