The Nyadire Connection Founded
In the summer of 2006, a team of eighteen Pittsburghers traveled to Nyadire, Zimbabwe to volunteer for three weeks. Nyadire is a United Methodist Mission that provides schools, a hospital, and other services to the community.
The team provided a day-camp for primary school children, medical and pastoral care, and construction labor. Upon returning to |

the US, the team formed The Nyadire Connection (TNC) in order to develop effective ways of helping Nyadire. Team members divided up the responsibilities with some focusing on the orphanage, others on the hospital, and others on the farm.
TNC works in close contact with the leaders of Nyadire to reach common goals. No major campaigns are undertaken without discussions with Nyadire leadership.
As a non-profit, TNC seeks:
1. to educate Americans to the plight of those at Nyadire and Zimbabweans about sustainable methods to ensure Nyadire's survival and efficacy; 2. to advocate for those who have little voice - the orphans, the poor, the sick; 3. to support Nyadire with resources (both financial and otherwise) in a responsible and helpful manner.
